If the Bears lose this game then everyone in football operations should be fired by seasons end.
It was a game that showed the world how far off the Bears are from being legitimate contenders…instead the Bears are now limping across the finish line and into an off-season where they will lick their wounds.
Another generation of Bears fans will likely grow into adulthood not knowing exactly what elite QB play looks like in their favorite jersey. After Sunday, they know what it looks like from a one-in-a-generation talent.
Already a tough game against a tough competitor, the Sunday Night Football broadcast could be a tough listen with many reiterations of horror stories from the infamous draft of 2017.
It’s clear that the Bears still have work to do to maintain consistency on the road, but it was meaningful that they kept control of this game and didn’t allow it to be a disappointing late-season loss.
The Bears should look at this game as an opportunity to improve the way they play with less to their control and gain valuable road experience against an inferior team.
