While the Bulls are limited still in terms of talent and cohesion, they have proven to be a watchable product on most nights…So how to tell the interesting stories of the season’s first month? Statistics!
Considering that Markkanen, Valentine, Dunn and Portis have missed a combined 43 games this year, it’s fair to think the Bulls could be in the thick of the Eastern Conference. That’s not what many Bulls fans want to hear…
…the metaphorical champagne of the future will only be popped because of this year’s campaign — with Cam Payne included.
…the fact that Zach LaVine is upset about losing, even though three of his fellow Bulls starters are out with injury, should be heartening to fans. One could even say that frustration kept the Bulls from folding against Charlotte yesterday and chalking up their first win of the season.
Things are liable to gel as the season goes on…the returns of Valentine and especially Markkanen should only help with the team’s overall development, but this lineup will have a lot of trouble starting out the season.
