The only thing to say about the 2016 version of the Chicago Bears is that they can’t be trusted, not even against bad teams, because they are a bad team themselves.
It’s one thing to be short on players, but the lack of discipline and execution is inexcusable, especially when you consider the lack of talent the Bears have on the roster.
At least rookie running back Jordan Howard is doing his thing, but he ran the ball only 16 times last week against 43 pass attempts for quarterback Brian Hoyer. The Bears can’t win that way, even against a team like the Jacksonville Jaguars that, like Indianapolis features a dynamic young quarterback in Blake Bortles and a pair of deadly wide receivers in Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns. This story sounds way too familiar!
As a fan, it’s hard to watch a Bears game and call what they are doing professional football and at Week 5 I already feel like I’m beating a dead horse by commenting on the same problems over and over again.
Maybe the roster is just full of a bunch of bitches? According to former Bears tight end, and current New England Patriot, Martellus Bennett they are and “the coaches like the bitches.”
The team isn’t likely to melt down from that comment and its probably best for the Bears to ignore them, but as a fan I don’t have to, so here’s my take – you can’t call somebody a bitch without being one yourself. I can understand being frustrated with being in Chicago, but retaining that level of emotion — even while landing in the NFL’s best run franchise — I don’t understand.
Bennett has a good thing going now, why waste the energy? I guess being used up by four different teams in the past six years and then cast aside will bring that out of person.
So for Week 5, I dedicated this song to you Martellus – “Nikes” by Frank Ocean. Deuces!
