Watch: Derrick Rose (Almost) Save Day With Impossible Floater

Slowly, surely he’s doing things to make us believe again.

It took an unfathomably bad foul from Kirk Hinrich to give this play — without a doubt the most meaningful shot made by Rose in the last three years — a chance to exist.

Of course that inexplicable brain freeze from a former coach’s son really just led to a loss for the Bulls, but there’s no reason to trip over an early December loss to a Western Conference team bound for the playoffs, especially when it offers such a delicious divergence as Rose’s 30-foot kiss (word to Seal).

Beyond the great shot, Rose’s line (outside of his 6 for 20 shooting) was encouraging, in spite of his inconsistencies and Monta Ellis completely showing him up throughout the game Tuesday he showed up absolutely when the Bulls needed him the most. No moment could better sum up what this season will ultimately be about for the Bulls.

Rose may not always be there when we call (though he’s getting more reliable by the day) but he’s getting better at being on time.
