The once-vaunted Monsters of the Midway have suddenly turned historically meek , giving up more points per game than any team in the NFL and tying a 91-year-old mark of futility. How bad has Chicago’s defense been? FTW explores:

1. The Bears defense has allowed as many 50-point games in the past 11 games as it did in the previous 759.

Chicago gave up 55 points to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, following a 51-point drubbing at the hands of the New England Patriots in the team’s previous game (before last week’s bye). In week 16 of last season, the Bears allowed 54 points against the Philadelphia Eagles. That’s three 50-point games in the team’s last 11 games.

To find the three 50-point games before that, you have to go all the way back to the presidency of Lyndon Johnson.
