News has broke officially this morning of the NBA trade which we’ve all been expecting, the one to bring a climax to this wild off-season of 2014 — Kevin Love is headed to Cleveland, by way of a deal that ships out the Cavaliers past No. 1 overall picks, Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett, to Minnesota along with a protected No. 1 in 2015.
Beyond the particulars of the exchange, the big story in this projected deal is that Love is reportedly agreeing to stay for the long haul in the ‘Land and will, according to Yahoo!, opt out of his contract in 2015 and re-sign with the Cavaliers on a five-year, $120 million-plus contract extension.
Apparently, LeBron James is about that Big 3 life, nothing less, and he has another formidable one in which to work with with the announcement of this trade. The 2014-15 NBA season is officially on and its gonna be a fun one in the Great Lakes states — from Cleveland to Chicago, the sadness down in Indy, the randomness in Detroit and the unexpectedness of the new regime in Milwaukee much of the league’s best storylines are now located in the Eastern Conference’s central division.
As for this one? It’s pretty obvious, with LeBron on board and two of this era’s most promising (yet unproven in games that count) talents, the pressure to win will be inconceivable for just about everyone else in the league, not even the defending champs will feel what Cleveland will feel this season because San Antonio has an established legacy of winning.
Bron’s legacy as an individual is in stone, but as a true leader there’s a lot more to be written about, and typed. As for what’s been typed so far beyond Zeke’s perfect tweet above, below you can see more recent reactions to this morning’s news on Twitter.
